Bookeeper, Receptionist, Housekeeper, Upmarket Retirement Complex

SUPERVISORY LEVEL
Rondebosch, Cape Town

This well established, upmarket Retirement  complex is looking to appoint a frontline Receptionist, who will handle Bookkeeping to Trial Balance on Pastel for the resident’s accounts and also assist with the  overall running of the cleaning staff.      It is not a pressured  bookkeeping role, as the volume of accounts is such that this can readily be  managed and kept up to date on a day to day basis.   The person will need to be comfortable  working in a complex of retired people, who often have issues that need  sorting out, and a patient, caring style is required in dealing with  them.  Ideally you will be a more mature  person who would enjoy this interaction, and be willing to support the  General Manager in the day to day running of the complex.   Ideally you will live in close proximity  to Rondebosch.

The requirements for this  role are:

Reception:

·                  Switchboard and intercom response and  reception of guests, suppliers and residents.

•         Record maintenance issues reported by residents and pass  on to Manager, and to attend to owners and residents queries.

•         Maintain the diary of events, such as bridge drives, and  book and prepare available rooms

Bookkeeping:                                                

•         Manage, reconcile and disburse petty cash

•         Record laundry and meal charges in the books of account.

•         Prepare EFT payments and capture then in the bank system.

•         Record all incoming and outgoing transactions in the books  of account.

•         Reconcile all debtors and creditors, petty cash and bank  account.

•         Prepare monthly statements and distribute.

•         Capture Budgets

•         Prepare books of account to Trial Balance on Pastel.

Housekeeping:

•         Supervise cleaning staff to ensure allocated times are  adhered to, keys are handed over and time sheets are maintained

•         Supervise cleaning of dining room, lounge and foyer.

•         Manage and control the laundry, and ordering of cleaning  materials
