Head of Finance, Prominent Non-Profit Organisation
This exciting position for a CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT (C.A. SA), who has preferably worked within the Non-Profit Sector, with extensive experience in working
with Board Financials, Trust accounts and Donor funding. Ideally this role will suit a female who has children and needs the flexibility of a half day role.
Ideally, we are seeking a person who has at least seven to ten years of relevant experience in the control the complete finance function, and who has managed a small
team, ensuring sound compliance and good governance, in all facets of the work. You will be part of the leadership team, overseeing all aspects of the
financial management and accounting systems for this Trust and the Foundation, and the financial reporting will be to the Board and to all stakeholders.
Being a very prominent organisation, it is essential to ensure financial compliance across all areas of the business, but also to provide excellent service from a high-
performing team, sound values, and work ethic in line with the expectation of the donors and stakeholders. You will report to the CEO of the Trust, and work closely with
the Heads of Departments, and the staff.
You will offer the following qualification, skills and attributes:
§ C.A. SA qualification with a minimum of 7seven years, with NPO experience an advantage
§ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a strong advantage
§ Proven experience of strategic financial planning, cashflow management, budgets and management of the budgeting process, and investment management.
§ Management of strategic direction for Sustainability and Good Governance
§ Monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting to Board, sub-Committee meetings and Management of the Annual External Audit to obtain an unqualified
§ Expert Knowledge of accounting best practice, policies and regulations, as well as EXCEL/PASTEL
§ Sound experience of payroll, and preference for CRM financial reporting.
§ Excellent attention to detail in all areas of the Financial Controls and Reporting
§ Project Accounting skills in terms of organisational planning, prioritising and time management
§ Creative and innovative problem solving skills and analytical, critical thinking capacity and decision-making
