Operations Manager including Finance requirement

This position is aimed at Affirmative Candidates who have sound Operational and Financial expertise from the non-Profit sector - dealing with international donors such as the Global Fund.

This fast-growing NGO based in Philippi, Cape Town, is seeking a top-performing, highly motivated manager to implement effective operational management systems and procedures and who has experience managing an organisation through a similar stage of growth.Also essential is the background and experience to meet easily the operational systems requirements of major international donors such as PEPFAR and GLOBAL FUND, along with significant background in operational and logistical management.The role will be about 50% financial management, 25% operations, and 25% HR administration.Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the organisation is compliant, on an ongoing basis with all statutory requirements of the Department of Labour and other relevant requirements such as supplier databaseregistrations.
  • Ensure compliance with all donor requirements
  • Manage the organisation's property, vehicles and equipment, including maintaining an up-to-date fixed asset register
  • Development of relevant policies and SOPs for work streams including, but not limited to procurement, inventory, fleet management, etc
  • Suggestion and implemention of productivity and efficiency improvements, including IT

Managing the smooth operations of multiple office sitesRequirements:

  • Previously demonstrated experience in organisational/resource development, personnel management,and financial/budget administration within the non-profit sector
  • Minimum four to five years in a similar role
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • An ability to demonstrate where and how new efficiencies in previous roles were implemented
  • Strong knowledge of rules and regulations for donors such as Global Fund
  • Demonstrated strategic management, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Highly skilled computer skills Microsoft Office Suite; data analysis and IT management
  • Well-organised with attention to detail; ability to work independently, coordinating multiple,diverse projects, set realistic deadlines, and manage shifting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interested in community development
