Head of Learning, Influence, Networking, Knowledge - PATA - Paediatric Adolescent Treatment Africa

Paediatric-Adolescent Treatment Africa (PATA) is a network of healthcare provider teams in Africa, dedicated to ensuring optimal prevention, treatment, care, and technical support for children and adolescents at risk of, or living with HIV. As an Africa-wide network, with active projects in 12 countries and representation in 23 countries, we are excited to embark on implementing our new Strategic Plan (2024-2030) which is to develop further networks with Linking and Learning at the core of its mission. Focussing on raising awareness about the rights and well-being of healthcare providers advocating for increased investments in frontline healthcare and empowering healthcare providers as influencial change-makers and champions in ending AIDS by 2030.

As Head of Learning, influence, Networking Knoweldge, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the network, and elevating PATA's profile as an impact driven network of healthcare champions and though leaders in Africa in delivering right-based HIV and related services to children, adolescents and their caregivers. This brings new opportunities to grow our network, share lessons, build capacity and advocate for services that are rights based, people -centered and delivered by healthcare provider champions on the frontline of the HIV response. Reporting to the Executive Director, and as a member of the Strategic Management Team, you will  elevate the organisation's profile in line with the objectives and within the scope of expansion through new networks and thought leaders.  

Grow the PATA Network:-

:LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

      ▪ Lead the development of the Network building strategy on how to deepen representation and influence.

  • Lead, strengthen and expand the Linking and Learning platforms, processes and related learning and knowledge sharing opportunities, and develop and enhance the existing online Linking and Learning Hub to mbe more interactive and responsive

       ▪ Explore new strategies on facilitating active participation of network members in line with current activities.

  • Develop, expand and improve the funtioning of supportive networking structures within PATA such as the Healthcare Provider advisoty Panel  (HAP) and  Youth Advisory Panel (YAP)  and strengthen the engagement and advocacy capacity of the HAP, YAP and other supportive structures.
  • Grow a strong cadre of Frontline Healthcare Provider Champions (FHP), who are supported and capacitated to represent the network in global, regional, and national working groups.
  • Identify opportunities and facilitate linkage for FHP champions them to voice their perspectives,and to showcase success and less successful experiences.
  • Provide strategic support within the Management team to realize the 2024-2030 Strategy and align with building capacity in core strategic areas and operations.
  • Manage the Communications Manager related to linking and leanring teams across the organisation to deliver on strategic and operational plans
  • Oversee the work of external consultants and suppliers when required
  • Oversee the delivery of Linking and Learning Events, Annual Summits and incountryforums, team accountability, and drive the design, data gathering and operational aspects.
  • Oversight of M&E team to ensure systems are in place to collect relevant data aligned with the PATA strategy and projects, meet reporting requirements andthat evidence is utilised to make programme improvements and inform ouradvocacy.

ADVOCACY and COMMUNICATIONS

      ▪  Lead development and implementation of the advocacy and communications strategy and lead the crafting of key messaging that represents the voice of the          network.

     ▪  Provide direction and strengthening of organizational branding, marketing,communications, and digital content to advance organizational visibility and profile.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

▪ Master's degree in public health or related social science field.

▪ At least 8 years of experience in network building, linking, and learning and advocacy in the non-profit health sector.

▪ Proven senior management experience in managing strategy and supportingorganizational development that includes, project management, building partnerships,and   engaging stakeholders, managing staff and service providers.

▪ Demonstrated experience in maintaining on-line learning platforms, active communitiesof practice, events and trainings, with knowledge of IT applications to support   on-linelearning, engagement and training

.▪ Experience in capacity strengthening and training of healthcare providers and community based or led organisations

▪ Experience in developing easily comprehensible and culturally relevant training materialsfor healthcare providers (print and on-line) using plain and readily   understandable   language

.▪ Experience in knowledge management, operational research, and the utilization of datafor service improvements and advocacy

.▪ Knowledge in HIV programming with knowledge in delivery of child and adolescentfocused programming across the HIV cascade

.▪ Experience in building and managing partnerships with government, civil society, andother relevant stakeholders.

▪ Regional work experience in Africa
