in collaborate with the Head of Programmes, the STA/QA will be responsible for providing technical oversight and quality assurance for paediatric, adolescent and youth programmes, and facilitating learning and internal capacity building for programme staff in line with the PATA strategy.

As Technical advisor /Quality Improvement (STA/QA) at PATA, your role is critical in providing clinical and techncial support to country staff, facilitating the implementation of the PATA service package, and ensuring the highest quality standards.  Working with Programme Managersand Coutnry Representatives, you will focus on articulating and empoweriung staff to embody and maintain a distinctive PATA technical approachthat ensures the quality, consistency, coherence of PATA+'s programmes, making adaptations as necessary for different contexts. At the same time, you will play a key role in supporting coutnry teams in bridging the gap between policy and practice, translating global and national gujidance into actionable strategies that respond to contextual needs. Your role will also include facilitating the collection of real-world evidence for south-south peer-to-peer learning, sharing best practice and documenting barriers and gaps in policy/guideline implementtion.

The STA/QA will report to the Head of Programmes and Knoweldge and will be based in the PATA Cape Town office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical and Technical Support:

  • Maintain a high level of techncial expertise in adolescent/paediatric care and treatment to keep PATA staff infomred about global trends and opportunities relating to PATA's strategic plans
  • Develop high quality standardised package of PATA technical support to systematically capacity build PATA field staff to deliver interventions throughout the continuum of prevention and care from infancy to adulthood.
  • Represent PATA in extgernal meetings and working groups
  • Provide expert clinical and technical assistance to country staff in the implementation of the PATA package of care.
  • Regularly update PATA programmatic staff on revised nomrative guidelines and evidence relating to paediatric /adolescent health, prevention, care and treatment.
  • Support country teams in the planning, implementation and roll-out of new programmes and interventions.

Quality Improvment :

  • Lead programme implementation to enhance the quality of PATA  programs through systematic assessments, feedback mechanisms, and continuous improvment strategies
  • Work closely with program managers to facilitate context responsive service delivery adaptations and institutionalise sustainable and context specific quality improvement plans
  • Develop and institutionalise a PATA internal programme evaluation mechanism

Capacity building:

  • Provide techncial guidance, mentoring and internal hands-on capactiy building across all programme staff.
  • Identify and address traiuning needs among country staff, developing and delivering targeted training sessions
  • Oversee the development /review and revisions and roll out of implementation and training materials, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Leverage on PATA's footprint and coverage to facilitate linking and learning from implementation.
  • Be responsible for the capacity building of ghealth care provider champions as well as facilitating and co-chairing the HAP.

Real-World Evidence and Documentation

  • Work collaboratively with SPM Monitoring and the Knowledge Management Hub to synthesise and package learnings from the frontline
  • Facilitate the collation of real-world evidence to support peer-to-peer and south-to-south learning and to infoem advocacy.

Closing the Practice to Policy Gap:

  • Work closely with country teams to understand and document enablers, barriers and gaps for organizational learning and advocacy purposes.

Qualifications and Experince required:

  • Medical degree or Clinical Nurse Specialist with a Masters in relevant field, including Public Health or other social scinece field
  • Extensive experience (minimum 5 years ) at regional level in paediatric and adolescent HIV care and treatment service delivery
  • Proven experience in quality improvment methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience with implementation of global and regional guideline for paediatric and adolescent HIV care
  • Ability to adapt strategies to diverse cultural and contextual settings.

  • Demonstrable ability to transfer technical knoweldge into contextually responsive and implementable service improvment approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse and remote teams and extenal stakeholders.
  • Ability to organise, analyse, interpret and synthesise programme performance findings to inform service delivery improvements, trainings, and/or PATA advocacy.
  • Ability to write detailed technical reports, policy brief, and other documents
  • Excleent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Willingness to travel to all PATA project countries. regularly.
